Shopping for a vehicle for a teen driver can be difficult. You have a lot of different factors to consider, one of the most pressing being safety. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety takes out some of the guesswork with its new list of safe vehicles for teens, which names the Chevrolet Equinox one of your best bets.

IIHS pegs the 2016 and newer Chevrolet Equinox as one of the best choices among small SUVs due to its performance in crash testing and Consumer Reports reliability scores. One feature that IIHS doesn’t mention: Teen Driver. This system, standard on newer Equinox models, allows you to promote safe driving habits without being in the car. Teen Driver Technology lets you track your child’s driving performance with an in-vehicle report card that shows you details like maximum speed and how many times Forward Collision Alert technology was engaged.

Beyond safety, the new Chevrolet Equinox is a smart choice because it gives your teen driver as much of what they want as what they need. The Equinox is spacious enough that they can bring along a few friends for an evening out (or do the driving on your next family grocery trip), it offers modern connectivity technology so that they can stay in touch with you, and it’s got a dynamic look that helps them stand out. If you’re shopping for a vehicle that’s safe for teens, Asheville Chevrolet in Asheville, North Carolina, has new, used, and Certified Pre-Owned Equinox SUVs in stock. Bring your budding driver in to see what the Equinox can offer and drive away with the confidence that you’ve made a smart choice.

Chevrolet Starts Up Production on the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Once Again

When Chevy first announced the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe, it was hard not to get excited. After all, this new Tahoe boasted more space and technology than previous iterations of the SUV.

Unfortunately, with vehicle production partially halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tahoe was one of the many Chevy models to have its production delayed.

The good news is that Chevrolet is officially starting production back up for the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe.

Of course, due to ongoing limitations, the release of the Tahoe will still be staggered a bit. Chevrolet plans to get base models of the Tahoe out on dealership lots soon, with more high-end models following suit shortly thereafter.

Families in particular will find plenty to love about the latest Chevy Tahoe model. The third row seats have seen some major expansions, with 40 percent more legroom for those passengers. Meanwhile, if families don’t need the rear seats, they can fold them down to open up a maximum of 122.9 cubic feet of cargo space. Combine that with a standard safety suite that includes features like Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Alert, and it’s not hard to see why the new Tahoe is one of the most highly-anticipated family vehicles of the 2021 model year.

Here at Asheville Chevrolet, we are excited to see this incredible new iteration of the legendary Tahoe start making its way to dealerships like ours in the near future.
