Chevrolet is introducing a new, small SUV to its lineup for 2021: the all-new Trailblazer. Since it has many similarities to the Trax, we decided to break down some of the most important differences between these two models.

Choice of Engine

The 2021 Trax comes with a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that delivers 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, as well as a six-speed automatic transmission. The Trailblazer offers two engine choices: a standard 1.2-liter turbo engine that produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque with a Continuously Variable Transmission, and an EcoTec® 1.3-liter turbo engine with 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft torque paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Both small SUVs can be equipped with all-wheel drive.

More Space

While both compact SUVs are very similar in size, the Trailblazer has a bit more cargo room. The Trailblazer has 25.3 cubic feet of space in the back and 54.4 cubic feet with the seats folded down. The Trax offers 18.7 cubic feet and 48.4 cubic feet, respectively.

Connectivity

If technology is important to you in a vehicle, the all-new Trailblazer is the way to go. It offers available wireless smartphone connectivity and a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot. An 8-inch infotainment touch screen and wireless charging are also available. The Trax does have smartphone connectivity, but you’ll need to connect with a USB cord.

Great First Car

The 2021 Trailblazer is positioned to be a great first car with a starting MSRP of $19,000.* The Trax is also a good deal at $21,400.**

Both the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer and 2021 Trax offer great value and a range of appealing features. To find out which one is right for you, feel free to call us at Asheville Chevrolet to schedule a test drive.
